The “Why” Behind HigherLeading
HigherLeading is founded on a passion for the development of a culture where employee engagement and the patient experience are valued, high quality and safe patient care is a priority, and operational efficiency serves as a foundation for the delivery of cost-effective service. I have dedicated my entire career to the healthcare industry, starting as an environmental technician at a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Through hard work and determination, I worked my way through college, taking on responsibilities such as cleaning floors, emptying trash, transporting laundry, and even assisting with the duty of moving bodies to the morgue. This hands-on experience allowed me to observe and understand the inner workings of organizations from the ground up. Transitioning from these foundational roles, I pursued a career as a Respiratory Therapist and later became a Registered Nurse. In these roles, I entered the sacred space of caring for individuals and providing support to families during some of the most challenging, grief-laden, and joyous moments of their lives.
Over the past three decades, I have had the privilege of serving as a leader in various capacities, collaborating with exceptional individuals, and dedicating my efforts to enhancing employee engagement, improving the patient experience, ensuring the provision of quality care, and contributing to the financial stability of healthcare organizations across different sectors of the industry. My journey has provided me with a diverse and unique perspective on healthcare operations. My goal is to serve as a coach, a developer of leaders, and a consultant to assist individuals and organizations to optimize their capabilities for enhancing the lives of their employees while providing value-based care to those individuals we are fortunate to serve.
I look forward to working with you and your organization to create better cultures and systems of care. Please check out my service capabilities to see where I may be of assistance.
All the best,
Craig
